RJ-11 Connector
What is an RJ-11 Connector?
To put it simply, it's a phone connector. A plain, basic, phone connector. The RJ-11 connector goes for a standard telephone to a phone jack, providing phone service to that particular phone. The RJ-11 connector can only provide service to that singular handset.
There are several similar types of connectors which can provide both Internet and several different phone lines to a single phone. It is rarely seen that someone would use an RJ-11 connector for anything anymore, since the standard has risen up to using a RJ-14 or RJ-25.
The RJ-11 connector delivers what most call POTS service, or Plain Old Telephone Service. This is the most basic telephone service you can get, with support for only one line. If you are still using a RJ-11 connector with your phone service, then it's time to upgrade to a better connector.
